Our seven-stage method
Texture & Decorative Finishes follows the same documented process as every job in our painting and decorating division.
Site visit, color and specification
We measure the areas, assess the existing substrate and discuss color, sheen level and paint system. Sample patches can be applied so you see the color in your own light before committing.
Detailed written quotation
The quotation sets out the preparation, the number of coats, the exact products and the areas covered. Everything is fixed in advance, including making good existing defects.
Full property protection
Furniture is moved and sheeted, floors are covered edge to edge, sockets and switches are masked, and joinery, glazing and ironmongery are protected before any preparation begins.
Surface preparation
Walls are washed down, cracks are raked out and filled, patches are sanded flush, loose material is removed and defective plaster is cut out and made good. This is the stage that decides how the finish will look in two years.
Priming and sealing
The correct primer or sealer is applied for each substrate: new plaster, previously painted surfaces, timber, metal and wet areas all take different systems. Stains are blocked so they cannot bleed through.
Finish coats applied properly
Two full finish coats are applied as standard, cut in by hand at every edge and rolled or sprayed to an even film thickness. Coats are allowed proper drying time rather than rushed to close the job early.
Inspection, touch-up and clean-out
We walk the property with you under natural and artificial light, mark any snags, correct them, remove all masking and protection and leave the property clean and reassembled.
